Racing for Chase

Chase went home to the Lord on October 7, 2010. Our goal is to remember him by providing scholarships to Venus High School seniors. Chase touched many lives in his short time here on earth and the work of his friends and family will help touch many more through the Chase Cannon McCarty Memorial Scholarship fund that was established in 2011.

Our hope and prayers are that Chase‘s legacy will live on through outstanding Venus High School Seniors. With our family’s passion for the success of the Venus community, we thought of no better way to honor Chase. All proceeds of this race will go directly into the scholarship fund.

The Cleburne HS cross country runners work hard in all kinds of conditions to do well in their chosen area of competition. They don’t always get the recognition they deserve for their hard work. Here is a video from montecd that features some of the runners in their element. Good job guys.

A Cool New Way, a Joe Satriani cover played by Guy James

This guitar instrumental was played by Guy James, on a Fender Stratocaster through a Line 6 Bogner Spider Valve amp. No attempt was made to copy the great Satriani solo verbatim, but Guy’s solo expression is to play it in his own way; also with some opening sounds reminiscent of Zeppelin. This was improvised over a backing track.
