Burleson’s Hot Sounds of Summer concert series celebrates its finale Friday, June 26, with a Texas band that is “Guaranteed to Satisfy.”
“Guaranteed to Satisfy” is the title of The Derailers ninth CD. The Austin-based quintet ignites its passion for Buck Owens, the Beatles and Buddy Holly with honky tonk, rockabilly and Texas-flavored rock and roll. The Derailers will claim the stage in Burleson’s Old Town, next to Burleson City Hall (corner of Ellison and Wilson streets), at 7:30 p.m. Wear your dancing shoes and grab your best dance partner for this 90-minute music fest because The Derailers bring two-step ready tunes as well as ballads.
The free Hot Sounds of Summer concerts are hosted by the City of Burleson’s parks and recreation department. The concert series started May 29 with The Killdares and was followed by Crawfish on June 5, Victor Trevino and the Hound Dogs on June 12, and the Texas Gypsies on June 19. The final concert, the Fourth of July celebration at Hidden Creek Sports Complex, will feature Men In Black (Johnny Cash/Roy Orbison tribute) at 7:30 p.m.
All Hot Sounds of Summer concerts are free. Bring a picnic as well as a chair or blanket to sit on. For more information call the parks and recreation department at 817-295-8168.
